Work during and after and co-op programme in Canada

Part Time Work: International students can work on the University/College campus, where as off campus work is permitted only after 6 months. Full-time students can work in their institutions without the need for an employment authorization. International students can work up to 20 hours per week during their studies and 40 hours per week during vacation. They can earn approximately C$ 7 – C$ 10 per hour. Students can work full time off campus during co-op terms and can earn approximately C$ 10 – C$ 15 per hour, amounting to C$ 400 to C$ 1,000 per month

Co-op Programs: Several programs may even have a paid co-op term (popularly known as Co-op programs) where you get hands on experience in working in the industry. These may even be paid co-ops (like the study and work courses).

Work after the course: You are allowed to work in Canada for 1 to 3 years after completing your academic program depending on the length of the program. This means you have a realistic chance of recovering your cost in Canada after your studies

What is the processing time of SPP student visa application?
An SPP student visa application takes around 5 to 10 working days.

Can a visa once refused be granted if apply under SPP?
To apply under SPP the student should have never been refused a study permit to Canada. If a visa is once refused then the student has to apply outside SPP.

Can I apply without IELTS?
The minimum score of IELTS 6.0 band is compulsory to under SPP.

Can I get work permit in Canada if I do not study under SPP?
Work permit scheme is open to all the international students who have graduated with a recognized qualification from any of the accredited institutions in Canada. The Work permit policy has its own requirement and each student should qualify / satisfy those requirements.

According to the present regulation of work permit in Canada, a student whose duration of course is for two years or more will get a work permit for 3 years in Canada. If the duration of study is for less than 2 years then the duration of work permit will be equal to the duration of study.

Types of Accommodation
Residence / Dormitory
Many institutions have accommodation conveniently located on or near their campuses. Many residences have a shared kitchen, toilets and other facilities. There is usually an option of having either a shared or private room. Dormitories are usually separated by Gender. In some cases, the meal plan can be included in the cost of the room.

Off campus Rental Housing
Renting is another option open to students. Many students share accommodation to keep costs down and usually find places that meet their needs & preferences. Many institutes offer an off campus housing service which can provide a list of affordable accommodation near the campus.

Many Canadian families welcome international students. Homestays also offer a more stable & secure environment for younger people coming to study in Canada. Typically, a homestay consists of a Canadian family hosting a student in their home while the student attends classes in Canada. Meals are provided in home stay but are not compulsory. Home stays are arranged by schools & students are matched with families who share similar interests.

This Requirement Is Fulfilled Through The Purchase Of A Participating Gic, And Evidence That You Have Paid Your Tuition.
